The Arlita (expanded clay) is a type of porous substrate for hydroponics (it is suitable for recycling). It is composed of aggregate clay forming balls of more or less 8 and 16mm.
Arlita 3L has a pH stabilized between 5.5 and 6.5, which makes it an excellent support for hydroponic cultivation. It can also be mixed with other types of substrates. The expanded clayballs does not absorb water for a long time, which means that in hydroponic farming does not have a very high safety factor in case the timer or irrigation pump fails.
Tip: Dip the arlite or expanded clay balls into the nutrient solution 24 hours before transplanting to stabilize the pH.
